A month or so ago, I was walking down Chestnut Street in Philadelphia on my way to dinner with some work colleagues. As we passed the West Elm store there, I turned to my colleagues and said, “You guys are so lucky. I wish we had a West Elm in St. Louis.”
A few days later, my wish was granted. There in my inbox was an email with the subject line, “West Elm St. Louis Opening! Media Tour Invitation.”
A West Elm in St. Louis, and I was being invited to the preview party?
It’s like the home furnishing gods heard the want in my voice and made it happen. Shortly thereafter, I wished for a million dollars, but alas … no dice. I guess my powers are only valid for fabulous shopping destinations.
And yes, that’s a true story.
Headquartered in Brooklyn, NY, West Elm offers unique modern furniture, home decor, and gifts that mix clean lines, natural textures, and global accents. I’ve been an online West Elm shopper for awhile, so to be able to pop into our local store and browse? Awesome!
One of the things I love about West Elm are their “West Elm Green” products — products that are responsibly-produced, certified-organic, recycled, rapidly-renewable, or non-toxic. One other thing I love? The St. Louis West Elm store’s partnership with eight local Etsy artists, including my friend Brooke of Sucre Shop! We all know Rhubarb and Honey loves local and sustainable!
In addition to showcasing local artists, the preview party also boasted adorable cookies from Rhubarb and Honey favorite Pint Size Bakery and craft beers from more R and H faves, Urban Chestnut and 4 Hands Brewing Company … making this food blogger very happy!
If you haven’t checked out West Elm lately, you should … I know I’ll be visiting our new local store again very soon!
Disclosure: Although I receieved a small gift card for attending the West Elm preview party, all thoughts are my own. I only endorse products and businesses I use or frequent on a regular basis, and I’m truly thrilled West Elm has arrived in St. Louis!Pin It
