While some may argue that there’s no true “grilling season” because you can grill year round, The Chef and I can’t wait for summer to arrive each year because that’s when we routinely grill at least one night every week.
And thanks to OXO, our grilling adventures have been made a bit easier because of this rockin’ set of products designed to help you grill like a pro.
16″ Tongs / Corn Stripper
Of the above products, the salad dressing shaker, silicone basting brush, and grilling tongs are now fully in rotation in our kitchen each week, and I really can’t say enough good things about them.
The salad dressing shaker is basically my new best friend; it makes whipping up salad dressing or marinades incredibly easy. Unscrew the top, add your ingredients, then shake away … and don’t worry about making a mess because this shaker is truly watertight! Once your dressing is mixed, just flip open the top lever and pour away. Flip the lever back to seal the shaker, then put it right into the fridge to store any leftover dressing. It’s also BPA-free and dishwasher safe, which are HUGE plusses in our house!
The silicone basting brush is also a griller’s dream come true. First of all, it’s heat resistant to 600°F so no worries about using it on the grill. And the gaps in the center bristles hold liquid as you transfer sauce from the bowl to the grill, which let’s you baste your meat or veggies with ease. And the best part of all, it’s easy to clean … just throw it in the dishwasher! The bristles won’t clump, frizz, or retain odors.
And of course, we can’t forget the 16″ tongs. Made of brushed stainless steel with soft, non-slip handles, these tongs are strong, long, and easy to use. They also quickly lock together for convenient storage, and the pull-tab on the lock also has a hole that can be used for hanging, which we did when we recently grilled some delicious porterhouse steaks at my parent’s house a few nights ago!
Looking for a great steak marinade for your next grill night? Well then, look no further than my recipe for the best steak marinade ever!
- ½ cup red wine
- ½ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
- ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small shallot, minced
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Place all ingredients in a shaker or Mason jar; shake vigorously until everything is combined.
- Pour marinade over desired cut of steak.
- Cover, then refrigerate for up to 8 hours.
- Grill meat as desired.
