Nope, not me.
Yeah, yeah, I know Super Bowl Sunday is an unofficial American holiday, and the game itself is sometimes the most-watched television event of the year, but I’m just not a football fan. The World Series and baseball? Now that’s another story!

Football fan or no football fan, it’s hard not to resist the allure of gathering with friends and family to watch the big game (or just the commercials!) and nosh on lots of oh-so-tasty snacks. What do we have planned for today’s game? Well, as soon as I hit “send” on this post, we’ll be whipping up The Chef’s chicken wings, my mom’s pizza snacks, and My Baking Addiction’s jalapeno popper dip.
Need more choices for your Super Bowl spread? Check out these other great treats that would make perfect game day snacks:
- Easy Cheese Puffs from Foodista
- Homemade Pizza Rolls from Serious Eats
- Tex Mex Pinto Bean Spread from My Recipes
- Baked Oyster Crackers from Rhubarb and Honey (hey, that’s me!)
Or perhaps you’re looking for something really different? How about buffalo sweetbreads with blue cheese foam? Okay, that may be a little much for your Super Bowl Sunday table, but apparently one of my favorite Top Chef contestants, Richard Blais, thinks standard Super Bowl snacks are a bit, well, tame.
In the debut of his weekly segment on CNN Senior Junk Food Correspondent Ali Velshi’s show on Eatocracy.com, Blais “amps up sweetbreads, cocktails and so much more for a game day feast that’s out of this world.”
Whatever you make today, and whether it’s for the big game or not, enjoy your Super Bowl Sunday. Go Packers! Or … Go Steelers! Or … oh, heck … just bring on baseball season!
